CHILDREN and FAMILIES MINISTRY COORDINATOR

Mt Maunganui Baptist Church
Part-Time (10 hours per week)

Are you passionate about working with children and families? Do you have a heart for nurturing faith in the next generation? Mount Baptist Church is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Children & Families Ministry Coordinator to lead and grow our vibrant ministry for children aged birth to Year 6 (ages 10-11). This exciting part-time role (10 hours/week) offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of children and families, with clear potential for increased hours as the ministry expands.

Key Responsibilities:

 Lead and coordinate Sunday Children's Ministry, supporting children's
spiritual growth.
 Foster intergenerational relationships and work with families to support faith
formation.
 Develop community outreach initiatives (e.g., preschool programme) to
connect with local families.
 Collaborate with the Youth Ministry team to ensure smooth transitions for
children to youth programmes.
 Build and mentor a strong team of volunteers.
 Ensure adherence to child protection and safety policies.

Skills & Qualifications:

 Strong relational and leadership skills, with a heart for children and families.
 Experience in children’s ministry or pastoral care (voluntary or paid).
 Ability to work well with a diverse team and engage with the wider community.
 Proficiency in organizational and administrative tasks, including volunteer
coordination.
 Passion for helping children grow in their faith and supporting families in
spiritual development.
